FAQs
What will I do?
WWWC serves through evangelism, discipleship, vacation Bible schools, construction projects and a variety of other ways. We will work to match your gifts and talents to the current needs on the ground. Come ready to serve with open hearts and open minds!
Where we will be working/serving?
Our ministry is in the Mejicanos area of San Salvador, El Salvador. Your team may serve with the church or school we are affiliated with, in the local markets, university, schools or community. The opportunities are plentiful.
Who will be in charge of the team?
From the time you leave the airport to the time you return, you will be under the supervision of When Will We Cry.
Will I be safe?
We take every precaution to ensure the safest trip possible by consulting travel advisories and working with our personnel in El Salvador. We pray continuously and ultimately trust in the sovereignty of God.
Where will I stay?
We stay together as a team in a local motel near the church.
What will I eat?
We generally eat breakfast at the motel, lunch at the church and dinner out somewhere. Access to food is no problem and we drink bottled water while in El Salvador.
What is included in the cost of the trip?
Costs include airfare, transportation in El Salvador, food, lodging, insurance and some supplies. Once a trip is scheduled you will be advised of any expenses you need to plan for.
What will my trip accomplish?
Your role will play an important part in our larger goal – to reach those who have never heard the gospel of Jesus and to encourage existing believers. Short term trips allow long term ministry to continue as we work with the local church to spread the gospel, disciple believers and serve the poor.
How will I be able to communicate?
You don’t need to be able to speak the language. We provide translators. It is also amazing what can be communicated non-verbally.
What vaccinations are recommended?
Tetanus and Hepatitis A and B series are recommended. You should discuss with your doctor where you are going and if you want to consider malaria prevention medication.
How can I prepare for my trip?
First, secure a passport or ensure the one you have will not expire prior to or during your trip. Attend any team meetings held by team leader or When Will We Cry. Research El Salvador via the internet. The most important way to prepare for your trip is to PRAY! Pray for the people of El Salvador, the trip leaders and your team.

Samuel Christian School
The local church began building a school due to the need for a safe environment for children to learn. The school continues to grow and provides a Christian education for students as well as an avenue to minister to the community. Funds are needed for school expansion, teachers and child sponsorship.

About Us
When Will We Cry Inc. (WWWC) was founded in 2002 by Lewis and Donna Thomas. The Thomas’ had always been involved in mission work at home and abroad. It was on a trip to Nicaragua in the late 1990’s that God changed their hearts forever. In 2002 Lewis left his church staff position and founded WWWC.
Lewis works in the ministry full time, while Donna is a speech pathologist and currently works as a rehabilitation coordinator at a rehab/long term care facility. They have attended and served at Mars Hill Baptist Church since 2003. In their marriage of over 40 years, God has blessed them with three children and nine grandchildren.
For fifteen years WWWC served with Esfuerzo Cristiano and the late Pastor Eleazar Siebenhor in the San Marcos region of Guatemala. WWWC assisted in planting more than 30 churches and served the poor with food distribution, construction projects, vacation Bible schools, preaching and evangelism.
In 2014 WWWC began serving with Buffalo Baptist Church and Pastor Eduardo Pletez in the Mejicanos region of El Salvador. WWWC works with this growing church in a variety of capacities including evangelism, discipleship and their expanding bi-lingual school, the Samuel Christian School. This church exists in the heart of a poor area in San Salvador, El Salvador but the Lord is moving through this thriving congregation!
